mVIRs is a command line tool that uses high-throughput sequencing data from cultured or natural communities of bacteria to locate inducible prophages, including novel ones. It identifies candidate prophages by detecting outward-oriented paired-end reads with unusually large insert sizes, and their exact genomic location by extracting the coordinates of partially aligned reads.
