| Description: | Thermoproteus neutrophilus (strain V24Sta) is an anaerobic hyperthermophilic crenarchaeota isolated from a hot spring in Iceland. This organism is capable of autotrophic growth with sulfur as the electron donor and hydrogen as the electron acceptor with an optimum temperature at 53 degrees Celsius. It is also able to grow heterotrophically on organic substrates. |
